Today is my last day in Seoul. We leave for the airport in an hour. I am very sad to leave. It’s been such a great experience. I loved being with other adoptees and sharing our stories. It was great making lifelong friends and experiencing new things with my mom. It was very special to have my mom with me. I am very proud of her. I didn’t come to Seoul with a void to fill but I am leaving with a full heart.
Put together a night of karaoke (noraebang). Thankfully our friends who we met here came with us to show us how to work everything. They take karaoke very seriously here. No alcohol in the rooms. They have CCTV to monitor you, which is how we found out that they enforce their rule of no alcohol. Whoops.
At the DMZ yesterday. It was definitely an experience being there. Made me appreciate our military even more.
I absolutely love this photo of me and Jodi. We were at Holt Ilsan, the center for special needs children. Jodi’s mother Suzann came with her as well. Our mothers are very similar and became fast friends on the trip. I can’t remember why we are laughing in this photo but I am guessing it has to do with our mothers!
